What should I expect from my Reflexology session?
At first I will take a brief medical history and find out a little bit more about you so I can create a personal treatment plan.
Before you relax in my comfy reclining chair, you will need to remove your shoes and socks. I will then massage the feet to relax both your feet and you, after which the reflexes on your feet will be worked on – this is usually the point where everyone escapes their hectic lives and has a good nap!
After your session I will provide you with written home care advice and may show you some points on your hands to work on yourself.
Does Reflexology hurt?
You will experience different sensations on your feet as they are being worked on and some areas may be more sensitive than others. I will apply as much pressure as you are comfortable with.
What can Reflexology help with?
Reflexology is suitable for all ages and the effects vary on an individual basis, however the main aim is to encourage the body to restore balance naturally. The treatments are relaxing and benefits are often felt during and after the session. Reflexology benefits include, but are not limited to the following:
- Relaxed and calm mind and body
- Boosting your immune system
- Stimulating circulation
- Removing toxins
- Boosting energy levels
- Encourages body’s own healing system
- Improved sense of wellbeing
- Relieve stress and tension
- Improved mood
- Less agitated
- Improved sleep
- Helps with digestive disorders
- Hormonal imbalances
- Muscle tightness
Please remember – reflexology is not just a massage, nor is it a substitute for receiving medical treatment. It is a complementary therapy and can be used alongside other medical treatments.
Please also have a read of some testimonials from some of my lovely clients to see the benefits they have had from Reflexology.
What if I’m ticklish?
Most people are surprised that having their feet worked on does not feel ticklish!
What qualifications do you have?
- BSc Honours in Sport and Exercise Rehabilitation
- Emergency fist aid at work
- ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology
- I am also a full member of the Association of Reflexologists
- Public liability and malpractice insurance
As you are mobile, how much space do you need – do I need to provide you with anything?
All I need is enough space in a quiet room for a reclining lounge chair to fit comfortably. All you need to provide me with is you and I will bring everything else.
Also, I’m fine with pets!
What if I need to cancel?
Whilst no one can predict emergencies, where possible, please give at least 48 hours cancellation notice for all appointments or a charge of 50% of the treatment will be applied upon your next session.
Can I purchase a treatment for a friend?
Yes you can. I have gift vouchers available for you to purchase for your friends and family.
